Researchers are making even further headway with stem cell research lately as a team of scientists at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland have further developed their 3D printing processes. While previously able to 3D print embryonic stem cells developed in their lab, the researchers have also been able to 3D print induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, which originate from donor’s adult cells and are even more fragile, requiring even more care in fabrication so that they stay alive during the process.
