    Another newbie dilemma...................

    Hi
I'm not positive this is even the correct forum and if not please feel free to redirect me to a better place.
I'm building my own printer and need to download and install pronterface. After unzipping, I keep getting messages that the configuration is incorrect and I cannot seem to find what I am doing wrong. Has anyone else had this difficulty? I am using a Win XP machine
    MANY THANKS
    Caddy

I doubt that it will work with XP !
Do you know of anyone that has gotten it to work with that OS ?

Hi! My friend have this problem before with XP OS and this was the advice he gave me on how to resolve it:

    Windows
Download the following, and install in this order:

    http://python.org/ftp/python/2.7.2/python-2.7.2.msi
    http://pypi.python.org/packages/any/...-2.5.win32.exe
    http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wxp....12.0-py27.exe
    http://launchpad.net/pyreadline/1.7/...-1.7.win32.exe
    http://pyglet.googlecode.com/files/pyglet-1.1.4.zip

For the last one, you will need to unpack it, open a command terminal, go into the the directory you unpacked it in and run python setup.py install

If this won't still work, I recommend upgrading your OS to a newer one, since I highly doubt the newer programs are still compatible with OS as old as XP. Hope this helps!

Back in the dusty corners of my mind I did wonder if XP was just to far gone. Maybe so!

Regardless, I will try the suggestions offered and we'll see! To be sure, I do want to thank both of you for taking the time to respond..................It's not easy being new.......
    Thanks again
