Voodoo Manufacturing - New 3D Printing Service Bureau Created By Ex-MakerBot Employee

A group of former MakerBot engineers has launched Voodoo Manufacturing, a fast and affordable 3D printing service bureau. The Voodoo team has networked over 125 MakerBot 3D printers together using their own software that allows all of them to be monitored by a single technician. The startup also offers an API that will integrate with their customers website and automatically send orders from their own websites directly over to Voodoo’s print queue. Voodoo Manufacturing is basically a 3D printer farm that uses a massive bank of connected MakerBot Replicators working around the clock. Orders come in from the internet, where proprietary software verifies the job and sends it directly to the print queue. The software automates virtually the entire process, and the bank of almost 150 3D printers can be managed by a single operator. Not only does the need for significantly less personnel reduce the cost of production, but the automation allows the process to begin almost immediately which allows companies to send products to market much quicker.
