Shellfish farmers and marine biologists Pat and Barbara Woodbury have teamed up with Tethlon 3D to design and 3D print artificial ceramic oyster reefs. The goal it to help reverse the damage being done to natural oyster habitats by overfishing and man made global warming. The reefs were designed to encourage oyster propagation while simultaneously helping to restore the local marine environment and have a structure intended to encourage new populations of oysters to settle, grow and survive.
