Slicing Bug? MakerBot Desktop BETA 3.7.0.108

This issue is entirely pre-processing/software-related. Please download the attached ZIP file and then "slideshow" through the images; the issue is illustrated.

This is not (indirectly?) related to the processed/sliced layers beginning at "Layer 4." (That particular bug is currently mentioned in the V3.7 release notes on the next line.)
NOT THIS: "The toolpath visualizations for the Replicator Single, Replicator Dual, Replicator 2, and Replicator 2X begin at the fourth layer."

The first model layer (toolpath) is not being computed and/or deposited at the correct height - I'm referring to the layer that is deposited immediately after (above) the raft's final (top-most) layer.

What's occurring in the software is that the first layer gets deposited too high, and then the second layer is deposited below the first layer. All subsequent layers in the software are then deposited at their correct heights.

The physical (printed) model then has terrible print quality for the subsequent 8-10 layers. The first-through-third model layers are labeled in the ZIP files as layers 10-12.

I've tried adjusting many custom settings AND ALSO using the default MakerBot settings, but to no avail.

MakerBot doesn't appear to offer Version 3.6.??? for download anymore - luckily it's still in my Downloads folder. I'll give this a whirl in the morning after I've written down all of our custom settings profiles. *See my next point for an explanation.

Another bug is that the "Edit in Text Editor" function for settings-profiles is not working - it opens a new MakerBot Desktop window and offers the following error:
"This file could not be loaded. It may be an unsupported file format." (This function used to work in release 3.5 or 3.6)

yeah for makerbot you need to install the proftweak profile editor. I never got it to open in thing else.
Only thing I can suggest is to try the earlier version. Never had any slicing issues with that.
