Swedish “aristocrat and gentleman” Per Kristav, a fancier of the penny farthing high-wheeled bicycle, needed a way to protect his head from the inevitable crash which would result from riding the ungainly, if stylish, machine. So Kristav, a lecturer at Lund University and a man interested in how people use products to manifest themselves, turned to 3D printing maven Olaf Diegel to help him create the one accessory every proper, high-wheeling gentleman would require: a bowler hat bicycle helmet.
