    The 3D Printed Dance

Choreography James Batchelor reached out to XYZ Workshop to create a dance piece called Metasystems that utilized 3D printing to create the props. Using two Ultimaker 3D printers, XYZ spent 800 hours printing out the blocks for the performance. To make this possible, Imaginables, the Australian distributor for Ultimaker, created a non-standard .8 millimeter nozzle that allowed them to print at a faster flow rate. The dance performance explores the contrast of external similarity and internal difference through the environment of 3D printed blocks, each of which appears to be the same as the others on the outside while containing a unique interior structure. More details on this incredible use of 3D printing can be found here: http://3dprint.com/89284/3d-printed-dance/
