3D Printing Martian Life - J. Craig Venter Thinks So

If 3D printing human flesh, or human organs wasn't enough to get you excited, how about the prediction made by J.Craig Venter, the man responsible to sequencing the Human Genome?

Venter says that soon enough there will be printers capable of printing synthetic biology. Basically all we need to do is sequence the genome of any Martian life we may discover, and the printer will replicate that life. Pretty interesting, from a man that certainly has my utmost respect in science.

This is very interesting. What about 3D printing animals that have gone extinct on Earth? Would that be possible?
