My fans atop my extruder recently burned up and the wires melted all the way to the motherboard which I think is unharmed. Luckily I got a warranty replacement from the place I bought it from. They also included the new extruder fan assembly from Flashforge with no instructions and the following statement in my email before shipping out the part. I've included pics of the unit. Haven't figured it out yet. I plan to do a video of the complete removal and replacement of the the extruder soon.

"The replacement extruder assembly is an updated version which allows for a cooling fan to be mounted on the side. The cooling fan is particularly useful for printing PLA and can often significantly improve detailed PLA prints. We can provide the fan, mount, airflow duct and screws free of charge.
The cooling fan connects to the board at the point circled in red in the attached photo. Unfortunately, we do not currently have the wire and fan-end connector, but we can include the board-end connector if the customer can source the wire and fan-end connector himself.
Otherwise, we can request the wire + connectors from the manufacturer and send the fan package at a later date".
