Scott Summit of 3DS and founder of Bespoke Innovations was certainly in good company when he tore a ligament in his arm and was faced with wearing a cast from his upper arm down to the knuckles. He took it upon himself to work with an orthopedic surgeon and his group of designers in fashioning a streamlined, super modern 3D printed cast for today’s active adult who wants to be able to shower, participate in hobbies, and just wear normal clothes while a broken or injured limb heals. Only five millimeters in width, it’s an austere but aesthetically pleasing device that helps the arm to heal comprehensively while allowing the patient to enjoy quality of life.
