Is Apple Going to Launch a 3D Scanning Stylus?
While Apple has not yet made any significant move toward the 3D printing/scanning space, it seems like it might be just a matter of time. At the beginning of 2014, the company filed a patent, which was issued this week, that might hint at some of Apple's intentions to enter. The "Texture Capture Stylus and Method" patent awarded to Apple represents a multi-functional stylus that could function as a possible 3D scanner of sorts, capturing the surface texture of an object in three dimensions and usable as part of CAD technology. For details about the patent and the stylus itself, read the full story here: http://3dprint.com/85945/apple-stylus-patent-3d/
