3D Printed Guided Missiles on the Horizon

Raytheon, the world's largest producer of guided missiles and a provider of defense weaponry and missile guidance systems to the US military for nearly a century, is working toward an ambitious goal. The company has been using 3D printing in prototyping and end-use components for some time now, and has announced that they have now 3D printed just about every component needed for a guided weapon--including rocket engines, parts for guidance and control systems, fins, and more. They say the potential exists for soldiers to 3D print entire missile systems on-demand in the field.
