German student Jan Buerstner has created, after several less-than-successful iterations, a functional, mostly 3D printed RC hovercraft. While the first two generations of his vehicle had performance issues--such as not holding their own weight--the third try has proven to be a charm. Designed using Autodesk Inventor 2013 and available for download on Thingiverse, the RC hovercraft features many 3D printed components. It can hover over land and water, carrying up to a 500 gram payload, for about 8-9 operational minutes at a time.
