    RepStrap 3D Printer

Thingiverse user 'Skeat' wanted a 3D printer, but lacked the funds to purchase a brand new machine--or even for major power tools or large screws/nails to build his own DIY 3D printer. Instead, he created his own machine, based on the Prusa i3, creating a RepStrap 3D printer to ultimately print the parts for the next printer. Using wood and glue as primary components, Skeat's machine may not look high-quality, but it seems to work! The build area is a workable 120 x 120 x 100 mm. Check out details on this low-cost DIY 3D printer in the full article: http://3dprint.com/79004/diy-repstrap-3d-printer/

Love it! Looks like it produces pretty decent parts too!

I think too many people/companies get caught up in the hype of all metal frames and super strength materials without realizing what is possible with simpler designs and materials
