Researchers in Japan have not only outlined new methods for creating sturdy, functioning architecture using 3D printing for the larger scale--they have actually made a structure, in the form of a porous, organic looking pagoda. The process is extremely well thought out as they offer two different ways to use the materials, multiple assessment tools, and then an organized way to assemble the structure through the use of color and projection of 3D printed walls that are able to be pre-fabricated inside and then brought outside to be assembled via markers as they are placed on a stable foundation.
