question on 3d pen strands
Can i just make strands for the 3doodler 2.0 ,with just pliers or will that cause damage?

You mean : make filament strands for the 3Doodler with filament taken from spools ? I was wondering too. The shipping from Singapore is a killer (delivery time AND cost) and I'm afraid to damage the machine as the KS forum shows that not everything is under control just yet.
I wrote to Colorfab on that topic since they have very nice multicolor sample mix boxes that would be great in that scenario. They said it should work, but they have not shown anything done that way.
So if anyone tries, I'd be glad to hear about it.

well I just use lengths from rolls for my pen.
So yeah basically you can use any filament of the right diameter.
