In a study released by ROBO 3D and discussed at length in a speech recently by founder Braydon Moreno, engineers being polled—mostly at global security company Northrop Grumman—believe that having access to personal 3D printers would increase their prototyping and productivity substantially, with 85% affirming so. The poll, with only 7% responding being female and the majority of the group being millennials, indicated that surprisingly few of these engineers are prototyping at all. The majority ruled both in 81% not prototyping at all currently, and 85% stating that they would be if they had the tools.
