Eight students enrolled in a thesis preparation studio at the University of Toronto were challenged to reimagine prefabricated construction techniques in light of 3D printing technology. What they developed were a series of 3D printed sandstone tiles that were displayed in a campus gallery. The tiles explore the creation of simple to complex surface forms as a method for modular construction based on the traditional art of stereotomy.
