Honors student Patrick Lyons enrolled in the course “Introduction to Mechanical Engineering” as the first step towards a degree in mechanical engineering. In the course, students broke up into groups and were asked to reverse engineer an object and then print it using UT's Innovation Station. Gathering with a group of like-minded students, the group named themselves “Post Traumatic Engineering Disorder” and set about dismanteling and studying a cap gun. They used SolidWorks to create the models and after some redesign for ease of printing were able to print the seven parts to create a cap gun.
