German student, maker, and Instructables contributor, “Make it Big,” designed a chic-looking and completely functional 3D-printed manual hand mixer. He shared the downloadable .stl files and instructions along with the caveat concerning the material he used, “Although PLA is made from plants, it is not completely food safe.” We did some research about the food safety of the two most common 3D printing materials, PLA and ABS, and here’s what we discovered.
