Childhood pals Damiann Van Zyll De Jong and Matt Penner started their People Footwear brand after the pair spent about four years of building another shoe brand, Native. Then they they went looking to answer the “What next?” question, and Van Zyll De Jong says the answer was using 3D printers. They says using the technology streamlined their manufacturing process and helped them reduce waste. The upshot is a pair of 3D printed shoes priced at a relatively modest 60 bucks a pair.
