When Purdue University electrical engineering student and VP of the school’s 3D printing club Jose Moreno decided to design and 3D print his own Jimi Hendrix-inspired guitar, he combined his various talents to come up with an instrument that was ultimately an impressive tribute to the legendary rocker. Moreno’s blog recounts the challenges and successes of the experiment with great humor. Thanks to the Purdue 3D Printing Club, which provided the printer and the materials, Moreno’s bright purple guitar is now fully in commission and actually sounds pretty good.
