When another duck loses a leg, it's not generally given a lot of priority, and the prospects for its continued survival are fairly limited. A duck found in such a state by members of the Ramakrishna Mission in the city of Rajahmundr, India has received a most welcome reprieve from the usually fatal sentence associated with such injuries and is being given a prosthetic leg 3D printed by Sandeep Reddy and M. Veeresh at 3Ding, a startup in Film Nagar. Researching current prosthetics informed the design decisions that led to the development of the flexible 3D printed prosthetic which is scheduled to be fitted on its fowl recipient in the immediate future.
