Doctors in China have just completed a successful hip surgery with the help of 3D printing. They used high resolution CT scanners to create a 3D model which was then 3D printed as a 1:1 replica of the patients deteriorated hip. They then used this model to aid them in conducting the real surgery. This is just one of a few cases that have been coming out of the Asian country as of late.
