    3D Printed Gyroman Toy

Jeffrey Kerr, an engineer, has had his 3D printer for about two years and prefers to create functional objects. Taking inspiration from 1981, when a fellow engineering grad student named John Jameson showed Kerr his design for a Gyroman walking mechanical toy, Kerr set about creating an updated version for the 21st century. With about a 50:1 gear reduction from the original design, Kerr created a device that also uses 104 pennies for the flywheel mass--all designed in Solidworks. The redesigned Gyroman toy costs about $10 in parts and Kerr has made the design files available on Thingiverse. Check out details behind its creation and video of the walking toy in action in the full story: http://3dprint.com/58268/3d-printed-walking-toy/

Rofl! Walks like I do after I have had way too many tequila shots, especially the wobbling at the end
