Light Insoles creator Alan Jacobsen was motivated to find an insole that would relieve the tired, sore feet his so-called fun hobby of cycling had been challenging him with for years. Using his experience in advanced materials technology, he created his own process called Mold-to-Sole, which uses 3D printing with a light-curing technology employing UV-LED lighting and resin. Light Insoles has just been launched on Kickstarter with hopes to raise $50K for the 3D printed insoles, which are intended for use in both cycling and running, with customized designs for each activity.
