Xiao Wang, a 21-year-old university student in China, recently fell on his wrist, breaking two bones -- his right hamate bone and his fourth metacarpel. Doctors at Wuhan Purehn Hospital in Hubei province discovered the extent of his injuries via CT scan, but were unable to exactly image the breaks via either CT scan or traditional x-rays, which put surgeon Liu Rong at a disadvantage when contemplating orthopedic surgery to help Wang. The surgical team, though, created a 3D printed model of Wang's injured wrist to assess the exact damage and plan a more accurate and shortened surgical procedure.Check out the full story: http://3dprint.com/55119/wrist-surgery-3d-printing/
