    Using a 2D Scanner to 3D Model ad print a Wrench

    Norwegian blogger and newly-minted 3D printing enthusiast Carsten Arnholm blogged about his recent experience buying a 3D printer. While he waited for his new 3D printer to be delivered, Arnholm schooled himself on 3D modeling by creating a “reverse 3D printing experiment.” He took a wrench that he’d had since childhood, one that came with a new bike, and created a virtual version of it, a 3D model that would be the first object printed on his new machine.
