Oscar Torres has been 3D designing and printing for years using his UP Mini 3D printer, and recently decided to take on a design project of heroic proportions: the Batmobile and Batcycle. Batman, a favorite for 3D designers, has iconic transportation, and Torres was clearly up for the challenge of bringing them to his desktop 3D printer. Using Rhino, T-Splines, and SpaceClaim for the design of the Batmobile, Torres ultimately printed the piece in 80 separate jobs to get a 22" long, 9" wide finished product, which he hasn't done any post-processing on. He's learning some electronics to wire up LEDs for the impressive Batmobile. The 'Winged Knight,' the Batcycle, was designed using SpaceClaim. The concept for the Batcycle will ultimately incorporate an augmented reality app. Read more about Torres' designs in the full article: http://3dprint.com/49974/3d-printed-batmobile/
