SLA technology hasn't yet taken off yet in the consumer desktop 3D printing space, though the technology offers speed and accuracy in print jobs. The typical concerns holding SLA technology back include price, materials, patents, and mess...but maybe not for much longer. Spain-based Kitprinter3D offers 3D printer construction kits, making the purchase of 3D printers much more affordable, and they've just announced a new kit to be available in April. The SolidRay SLA-DLP 3D printer kit will carry a €549 price tag (around $585 USD), including resin and parts -- everything needed except for the DLP projector. The recommended projector, the ACER P1500, retails for $699. Together, these components cost far less than the standard SLA-DLP 3D printing systems we're used to seeing.
