Dr. Jouke Verlinden, of the Netherlands' Delft University of Technology, led a team in designing a new take on an established part of most any building: the electrical socket. PhD student Zjenja Doubrovski came up with the design itself as the team designed a new kind of power socket, which they then 3D printed. This new socket can wrap around the corner of a wall, and aesthetics and convenience were both taken into account. Verlinden's team has made the design files available on Thingiverse for others to look at and download.
