Barry Abrams and his hungry team of 3D printing enthusiasts acted on team member Dylan’s concept for a deep-fried donut taco, which he’d thought of years ago. Setting to work with 3D design and off to the 3D printer, they produced a plastic donut cutter device to cut out the dough. Filling the ‘donuts’ with beef, cheese, and even guacamole, they deep-fried them and watched them up puff up deliciously. The 3D printed cutters were used as disposable one-day tools, as they were concerned about bacteria growing in the porous surface.
