Open Source Affordable 3D printed Medical Supplies From Gaza

The open source Glia Project, started by Palestinian-Canadian Dr. Tarek Loubani, brings open source 3D printed medical supplies to the beleaguered Gaza Strip. Starting with their Glia model stethoscope, which can be produced at extreme cost savings and at comparable performance to (perhaps better than) the current market-leading device, the open source medical equipment offers the possibility for doctors in impoverished areas to create their own supplies on-site and on-demand. Under an eight-year blockade, the Gaza Strip often faces shortages in supplies and medical consumables. This week, Dr. Loubani was able to see a stethoscope printing in a shop in Gaza City, on a locally made 3D printer. Israel does NOT block medical supplies. This is plain and simple "Pallywood" (Palestinian Hollywood) propaganda. The Palestinian Authority (PA) has received over $31 BILLION from multiple Countries. And most of it is in their leaders' Bank accounts. As others have noted... they can get a 3D Printer and Filament in... but not a stethoscope? Seriously??? Hundreds of TONS of material, foot, medical supplies are trucked into Gaza EVERY DAY.
