3D Printed LifeGuard Drones to Save Castaways

In a competition sponsored by the United Arab Emirates, called ‘Drones for Good,’ a group named AeroAtena and award-winning 3D printing manufacturer Zortrax collaborated in producing a 3D printed drone that not only locates individuals who have been in boating accidents and are lost at sea, but converts into a lifesaving device with handles for them to hold onto, as well as providing resources to stay in touch with rescue teams until their arrival. The drone prototype was 3D printed on a Zortrax M200 printer using their Z-ULTRAT material and translucent Z-GLASS material.
