Aerialtronics, a Dutch manufacturer of sophisticated data collection drones, say they've cut significant time off the process of creating prototype, and even end-use, parts for their devices. The company bought a Stratasys printer, and they use materials like ABSplus to build parts which can withstand the heat and stresses of flight. Their chief designer, Joost Hezemans, says the company's Altura Zenith was put through the paces with customized parts for customers in far less time, and at a lower cost, that it would have been using their previous methods of prototyping.
