We found one passionate proponent of the 3D printing and DIY movement in the most unlikely of places: A dumpster. Okay. He wasn’t literally in a dumpster -- but Floridian 3D printer, and software and sytems engineer, Matt Defenthaler found the solution for a major 3D printing conundrum in a dumpster. Defenthaler figured out how to convert a trashed Netgear Wi-Fi router into a driver using ingenuity and OctoPrint. Now he controls his Makerfarm i3v printer remotely from his computer's web browser.
