    switching printer off

    new to this but can anyone tell me should I let the fan on the extruder /nozzle stop as its cooled down nozzle ect or is it ok just to turn of once ive finished printing

    - As a general guideline for most all electronic and mechanical components let the systems finish the cooling cycle before turning off power. In the aspects of a hot end its probably not going to cause any major damage, but skipping the cooling cycle is not going to help machine life.

    It is also the case that if you remove power then the extruder stepper is no longer locked and if the filament is liquid at that time the filament may pull back due to stretch from the filament holder so next time you try to print the filament has to be reloaded. My Wanhao is a bugger for doing this.
