A team of pioneering healers at St Thomas' Hospital in London have used 3D printing and 3D imaging technologies to take on repairs to a congenital defect to a two-year-old's heart. The problems arise in such surgeries as the heart structures involved are so minute that surgeons can be reluctant to attempt them without detailed information. Using a3D printed model, Dr. Gerald Greil and Professor David Anderson could visualize and map out a plan of action to minimize the risks to their patient, Mina Khan.
