As modern communications technology and the appeal of the advertising culture penetrate parts of the globe once shut off from outside influence, the old ways often seem to lose their appeal to the younger generation. Now a group of Russian 3D printing experts, ethnographers and fashion designers have used the most modern technology to try and preserve ancient customs by building period-correct versions of the clothing once worn by Bashkir women. The dulbega and the kashmau were recreated for use at cultural events and as display pieces at museums.
