yeah was just admiring the simplicity of it. was questioning how accurate the rack and pinion drives are though... i suppose the real defining factor is the software..

you mean the metal clay thing? your still adding impurities to the metal especially if you want to print steel.. I want to be clear im not dessuading you from doing it :D that goes against the idea...
the problem is that you will weaken the structure making it useless for a lot of uses.. that striation and the fact that each layer cools between applications will in effect create the same problems...

i use maya, soft and Zbrush. alough to be fair i have only just gotten my printer so i cant really comment..
