$1899 - $1999 for an SLA printer is pretty dang good. I hope these guys can do what they say they can do, because this will certainly make 3d printing a lot more attractive to the masses.

It should work. I just don't know if it's worth the trouble to find one and set it up. I don't know anyone that has used a cooktop but feasibly it should work pretty well I would think.
I would think that Makerbot and Cubify would be trying their best to convince Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, etc in the US to carry their printers. In store demonstrations would be tremendous.

That all depends on what you plan on printing. If you aren't looking to print larger items, the Mini is probably the best printer out there currently on the market for the price.

How does that work? I would think the PLA/ABS would stick together. Perhaps it's not a "real" chain? Those pieces must not be independent of each other, correct?
Do you consider Shapeways to be a 3D Printing service? I've ordered several things from there, and have been very happy each time.
