I've found rafts to be too problematic, a lot of time it sticks to the print too well and is hard to take off.

Glass bed and ABS juice works wonders to help both PLA and ABS stick to the glass....

They are cheap ones and so inaccurate most of the time. try printing at a higher temp.

Yeah CTC arent the type of printers which will give you great prints right off the bat.
You need to get them set up, upgraded and calibrated yourself, and this could require some work.

That's why I said contact ebay first, assuming they bought from ebay, not seen CTCs sold anywhere else.

Which thermister did you buy? Like yours mine is way off and I dont like having to calibrate the temps all the time.

I try changing it on makerware but it never saves it to the printer's firmware and resets when I restart the printer.

Cheap printer means cheap thermisters. They are not very accurate.

When it comes to setting temps you have to guess it really.

eg I cannot print ABS at 230C I have to set it at 255C in order...

Reflashing the firmware or upgrading it may help fix any errors that may have occur during the factory install.

But again, you wont know until your try it.
