Forgot to add... I've tried swapping the cables round and it works as it should I set it as the X axis... Have I damaged the motor controller?

Hi peeps.. I had to replace the plastic extruder thing on top of the motor cause the handle snapped.. I don't know what I've managed to do but after replacing the plastic fitting with a metal one...
