According to 3D2print, PA12 Nylon filament has been adopted to have low water absorption which is usually an issue with other Nylon filaments on the market. In order to obtain the best results, the filament needs to be dried from the little water that it might have absorbed. A standard air-circulated oven is sufficient, 2-3 hours at 110-130˚C for 100 gram is recommended. Here’s an example material: http://www.3d2print.net/shop/product...ilament-black/
Nylon absorbs water?
many plastics do but nylon is very bad.
Does it weaken or change the properties?
well you get bubbles in the extrusion since it gasses off when heated in the hot end. it makes it hard to control the extrusion so you end up with sloppy prints.
Oh I thought you meant the finished nylon print absorbs water if put under water.
