How 3D Printing Was Used For Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The new Star Wars film The Force Awakens heavily used 3D printing to augment the large casts detailed costumes. Notable 3D printed props and costumes included the hilted lightsaber used by the film's villain Kylo Ren, the chrome Stormtrooper armor worn by the imposing Captain Phasma, weapons and tools used by one of the film's new heroes Rey and an entirely 3D printed golden C3PO costume worn by Star Wars legend Anthony Daniels.
