Ender 3 pro - Replacing damaged magnetic mat

I'm new to the forum. Looked around but couldn't find an answer. Anyway the surface of my magnetic build mat got damaged and the few places that sells them where i live are out of stock. I could order a new one online but that's about a month in shipping time. I'm way too impatient for that.. Have anyone tried using like a heavily textured mouse pad and some magnetic tape to replace the original pad? If so, i'd love to know which type of mouse pad and how well it handle the heat from the printer bed. Hope you guys can help me out!
