Smart Extruder + / Strange filament and mass extruded numbers

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I'm starting to use a Makerbot Replicator+ with a Smart Extruder+ and the numbers I'm getting on the extruder history are quite strange. It's supposed to be new, but the numbers doesn't make any sense:

Print time: 5.09 hours (time of my first print)
Filament extruded: 3955.2m
Mass extruded: 12.3kg

Could it be posible they've sold me a used machine as new? I've only printed once for 6 hours.

sounds about right.
They did have an awful lot of the original; smart extruders back. Basically they just didn't work.

Given how poor makerbot sales must have been recently, wouldn't surprise me if they were recycling old parts.
