Ogle Models Commissioned by MOST AV to Create 3D Printed Sea Drone Parts

Ogle, a 3D modeling and prototyping company in Hertfordshire was recently commissioned to make some crucial, precision parts for an aquatic drone, also known as an unmanned surface vessel. Made for ocean use in forecasting weather, Ogle was hired by MOST Autonomous Vessels (AV) to produce both the complex bow and tail fin design. They achieved this through using an SLS 3D printer, with great results, as the AutoNaut is already in the water and has begun testing of collecting forecasting data. This is just one more example showing the potential for both drones—and 3D printing—in the future, allowing for new methods in collecting data, as well as performing tasks that were previously thought impossible.
