blue screen on ender 3 pro after firmware flash for bltouch

Help with bltouch installation and blank screen after following the instructions what am i doing wrong total newbie. Purchased the printer before Christmas for my son and he was having difficulty with the level so taken the plunge and bought the bltouch.

I have downloaded
printer is ender 3 pro
my board is a 1.1.4 and software before i had this issue 1.1.6 I believe

I downloaded the progisp +1.72
and the hex file
Ender-3-Pro_1.1.6V_BLTouch_Source-Code
followed the instructions from talking tech and the using instructions from the installation booklet that I could understand and followed creality post on you tube also
after doing this I turned on the ender pro and blank lcd screen the bltouch pops in and out three times so power going to it and the lcd is blank and blue so power again going to it. any help would be appreciated only have the isp that came with bltouch if anyone could even put a step by step so have I missed anything please.
