Ender 3 Pro Can't connect via USB

Hello all,

I recently got my first printer (Ender 3 Pro), and overall seems to work pretty well out of the box.

However, I can't seem to get it to connect to a computer over micro usb.

I have tried all the 'easy' steps, including:

- trying various cables, including at least one known good data carrying cable
- different power cycling tricks between the computer and the printer

I verify that it can't connect as Octopi cannot connect to the printer, and nothing besides the regular in `lsusb`.

My next step I was going to try was to flash the bios/ upgrade the firmware, but as that seems like an unnecessarily complex process (according to what research I have done, but I would love a point to a tutorial you guys would recommend).

Any other tips and tricks you guys would recommend?
